Poptropica has yet another new island journey and its title is Skullduggery. Paid subscribers have had access since May, and the general public can play starting on June 17. It is the longest and most in-depth island in Poptropica so far and even better than Reality TV. Check out the full Poptropica Skullduggery Island walkthrough.
Use the island map while traveling by balloon to go to Skullduggery and then slide down the rope to arrive at the starting point, named Fort Ridley. For the first part of the island, you will collect items that lead to other items and clues. Once you’ve got a ship, transacting and battles will be part of the island quest.
Once you arrive, run all the way to the right and proceed to the next place which is just over the wooden bridge. Once you cross over the bridge, go down beneath it and head back to the left where you’ll find a gold doubloon.
Go back over the bridge to the Main Street spot and then go into the General Store in which you will see a lady inside. Click the doubloon in your backpack and use it to get a bag of chicken feed.
Go outside and locate the guy with the chickens and after that give the bag of feed to him. He’ll be so delighted that he can feed his chickens now that he will give you one of them as thanks for the feed.
Travel right again, over the bridge to the corn farm. Open your backpack and click to use the chicken. It will walk along the ground and eat all the bugs. The man will be delighted and gives you a blue candle.
Go up the hill and run past the house on the top and go back down to the ocean below. You’ll see a woman there. Talk to her and she will tell you about her husband who has been lost at sea.
Go into the house which you see on top of the hill and talk to the two guys there. Use the blue candle that the corn farmer gave you to uncover the missing part of the document. The Goverrnor will explain the story of the lost Treasure Map and will ask you to find the pieces and defeat the terrible pirate, Captain Crawfish.
Walk outside the house and then go all the way back to where you started the quest. There is a fort here. Climb to the top of the tower and use the telescope. You’ll see a very small raft. Click on the broken mirror in the lower-left corner to send a signal to the raft and it will come to the dock.
A guy meets you on the dock and he is the man who has been lost at sea for so long. He is really happy to be safe back at Fort Ridley. He offers up his broken-down ship to you and wishes you luck on your adventure.
Once you are on board your raft, embark and sail to Dragon Cove, up and to the left of Fort Ridley. As you move from place to place in your boat, try to stay far away from sea creatures, pirate ships, and thunder clouds because they will all damage your ship. If you see salvage floating in the water, try to get it for extra doubloons and goods.
You’ll soon arrive at Dragon Cove. Click on the dock and disembark. To find the map piece, go to the water’s edge and stand on the sunken statue to reveal a Mallet. Push the crate with the fisherman sitting on top of it to the right as far as it will go and then use the mallet you just found while you stand next to the gong. This will send fish up for the old man to catch, and he will give you the map piece. You cannot immediately afford a new ship, or the services of the Shipwright, who can repair damage while underway. New ships and the crew members are pretty expensive and you’ll need to do a lot of trading between the islands before you can start upgrading. Go up to the trading post and sell any spice you have and buy silk.
Sail to Bouffant Bay, to the right, again avoiding damage but picking up salvage from the water.
Chat to the worker here on the pier if you want a small hint for the map piece that is hidden here in Bouffant Bay. Run to the right and you will arrive at the trading post. Here you want to sell Silk. At Bouffant Bay, the best cargo to purchase is Medicine, which is very inexpensive at this port. Now we’re off to find the map piece. First, walk to the right until you arrive at a house with the hanging baskets. Jump up into the 3rd, then the 1st, then the 2nd (middle) one. The map piece will appear. If you go inside Willard’s Warehouse to the left, you can find the Cargo Master crew member. When he is with you, your ship can carry 50% more cargo than without him. You probably can’t afford to hire him right now. Don’t forget to make sure you bought the Medicine cargo from the trading post because you’ll want to sell it at the next port.
And now we’re set to travel to the next destination. Embark on your ship and sail down to Parrot Port. Sell your salvage and cargo, but there is no cargo to cheaply purchase here. Head inside Petey’s Pirate Pub and you’ll find the Navigator. When you hire her she increases the speed of your ship, but if this is your first trip around the islands, she’s too expensive to hire for now. At upper left is a Cracker. Leave the pub and go back to the Trading Post, where you’ll see a parrot. The parrot is kind of weird and tells you to jump into the sea and then to come back and try to find it. Run out to the dock and jump in the water and then go back and you’ll find him up near the roof of one of the buildings. Click on him and he’ll tell you to clog the vent and see where he went. He’s talking about a chimney on the building to the right, which you need to stand on. You can find the parrot in the palm tree over to the right. He tells you to go to the old tower and find a pirate that he knows. Go to the old tower near the dock and you’ll find the pirate up top. He’ll tell you that if you can return the parrot to him he will give you a reward. Polly want a cracker? Look in your backpack and use the cracker. This will lure the parrot to you and when he returns, the pirate rewards you with the missing map piece.
The next stop is Golden Harbor, which is the island in the lower-right corner of the map. It’s surrounded by treacherous rocks so be careful when you go and pick up any salvage you can along the way. When you go inside the bank, you can borrow doubloons which let you buy more cargo for trading and earn money quickly. You can have the loan for up to 20 days at 5% interest per day. As with all the other islands, there’s a hidden piece of the map here.
To get it, you need to figure out how to light three lanterns outside. It can be tricky because each time you light one lantern, certain others go out. You should light the 5th (far right), 3rd, 4th, 2nd, and 1st in that order. The map piece will then fall down from the archway. Before you depart Golden Harbor, visit the trading post and buy as much grain as you can.
Sail for the Pirate Outpost, directly left, and dock there. Go to the Trading Post and sell all of your grain. Then purchase as much spice as you can fit in your cargo hold, since it is very cheap to buy here. Go all the way up to the top of the island and you’ll find a small building with a sign that says Corsair Cannonry. Inside you’ll find the Cannoneer crewmember who helps improve your cannon fire rate when battling pirate ships and sea creatures. You can hire him later. Leave the cannonry and jump up on the roof and then over to the top of the mast with the black flag that has a skull and crossbones. There is a small box called a cannon starter kit that lets you use the different cannon on the island. Push the small barrel of explosives off the mast and into the water below. Swim it over to directly under the Golden Tooth of the rock skull. Run back to the left and click on the cannon to fire it. The cannonball fires and lands on the explosive barrel. The big explosion blasts the gold tooth out of the skull and reveals the hidden piece of the map.
The Circular Trading Path: Sail back to Dragon Cove, directly up, and sell your Spice there. If you follow this simple clockwise trading route and buy and sell the same goods as you did on the first trip, you’ll start to amass a lot of doubloons so that you can buy bigger ships and hire crew. You can use any trading routes you want, but this basic circle will get you profits faster than any other way. On each loop through, if you have enough money to upgrade your ship, do it at the shipbuilders. Bigger ships have bigger holds for carrying more cargo. That means you’ll earn more profits very quickly.
After a while, you’ll have enough money to acquire the largest ship, the Phoenix Warbird. You’ll need this ship and a full crew to defeat Captain Crawfish. When you’re ready to fight Captain Crawfish, sail down to Skullduggery Island in the lower left section of the map and he’ll turn up for battle. When he is defeated, return to the Governor’s house at Fort Ridley. The governor gives you a bone shovel, which you need to dig up treasure, and he shows you exactly where to find it on Skullduggery Island.
Travel to the island and dig at the mound 6 paces right of the Black Flag. After the treasure is out of the hole, you will be surprised by Captain Crawfish and his crew, and a spy who posed as an aide to the Governor.
There’s no fight here, however. Your trusty crew arrives on your ship and defeats Captain Crawfish and his crew. You return to Fort Ridley with the treasure and the Governor gives you the Island Medallion as a reward.
